Audio recording of an interview with Elliot Ironside of Mallaig in June 2009. Elliot talks about employment opportunities when he left school and his own career on the railway as locomotive cleaner, fireman and then driver. He goes on to discuss the move of fish traffic from rail to road and heavy passenger traffic at Glasgow Fair. He discusses the past importance of Mallaig railway station as a focal point for the village and explains the development of the prawn industry in Mallaig.
